Cold Cases – Angel Gutierrez

Angel Gutierrez

On January 14, 2010, Angel Gutierrez was gunned down while riding a bicycle up to the 4th Street motel in Greenfield where he had recently been living. Angel, a 40-year-old drop-out of the Norteno street gang, was trying to rebuild his life after a troubled youth.

Evidence collected near the scene of his murder indicates a lone suspect was lying in wait for Angel’s arrival at the motel. Potentially key items were identified and collected in 2010, that could now be processed with state-of-the-art forensics to help identify Angel’s killer.

Tragically, Angel’s sister Veronica Gallegos and her friend Yliza Martinez were both shot to death in a motel room, also on 4th Street, one month before Angel’s murder. Both of these homicides are also unsolved, although one juvenile male was charged with being at the scene of the double murder, but not charged with the shooting.
