Alma Ayala

On June 25, 1999, the body of Alma Ayala was found along the side of the road in the 1000 block of South Alta Street in the city of Gonzales. Alma was a 19-year-old living in the city and working for a local produce-packing company. She was loved by family and friends.

Alma had been beaten to death just a short time before citizens found her body dumped along the roadside. A timeline of Alma’s life just prior to her murder identified several potential suspects, and a witness in the area told police he saw a vehicle leaving the scene, minutes before Alma’s body was found.

Items of evidence collected during this investigation may hold the key to linking someone directly to her still unsolved murder.
